Postdoctoral or Research Scientist | Scientific Programmer (W-0030) - Three positions

THE POSITION

We are now opening three positions for up to 4 years

Postdoctoral or Research Scientist | Scientific Programmer (W-0030 | all genders)

The successful applicants will join a team of scientists implementing an ice-sheet model into the next generation km-scale Earth-system model ICON with the aim of better understanding atmosphere-ocean-ice sheet interactions that contribute to present-day sea-level rise and high-latitude climate change. The research is part of TerraDT, a project within the European Commission’s Horizon Europe research infrastructure programme. TerraDT aims at improving the descriptions of Earth system components in the Destination Earth (DestinE) climate models. The positions include coupling of an ice-sheet with ICON, and conducting and analyzing simulations with the model at different stages of the model development. Tasks within the project will be distributed among the chosen candidates depending on their qualifications and interests.
